  Since the completion of his training Dr. Hallowell has consulted to various businesses and institutions and maintains a lively interest in management strategies and psychology. He lectures widely to business audiences on bal ancing life, managing worry, and developing and sustaining connections to people, institutions and ideas. Pantheon Books has published his latest book, WORRY: CONTROLLING IT AND USING IT WISELY.
  Dr. Hallowell has specialized in the treatment of learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder. He has written two best sellers on the subject, DRIVEN TO DISTRACTION and ANSWERS TO DISTRACTION. He has also written a book about children's emotional and learning problems that have a genetic or biological basis or component, called WHEN YOU WORRY ABOUT THE CHILD YOU LOVE: EMOTIONAL AND LEARNING PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN (Winner of CHILD Magazine Best of the Year Book Award, 1996).
  Dr. Hallowell also has specialized in school consultation and has consulted to numerous schools nation-wide. He has written widely about childhood and has co-authored a book with Michael Thompson entitled FINDING THE HEART O F THE CHILD: ESSAYS ON CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND SCHOOLS.
  Dr. Hallowell conducts a private practice in Cambridge, and he is the founder and director of the Hallowell Center for Cognitive and Emotional Health, a center in Concord, MA specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of lea rning and attentional problems in adults and children. He lectures widely to businesses and educational institutions.
  He and his wife, Sue George Hallowell, a psychiatric social worker, live in Arlington, MA with their three children, Lucy, Jack, and Tucker.
